How it works?

Our Curcumin & Turmeric is a high-potency blend of organic turmeric root, concentrated curcumin, organic ginger and black pepper. It contains evidence-based doses of clinically-backed ingredients for joint comfort, stiffness, mobility and everyday aches and pains.

Women and men in our studies who rate it most highly have been taking Curcumin & Turmeric consistently for two months and over the long term.

Joint comfort and mobility

Turmeric has been used for joints for thousands of years, and the active compound doing the work is curcumin, which makes up only around 3% of the root. That is why our Curcumin & Turmeric provides concentrated curcumin alongside the whole root, not turmeric powder alone - standard turmeric supplements don't provide sufficient curcumin. Ours provides 20 times more curcumin than a standard turmeric supplement.

Curcumin is one of the most researched plant compounds in joint health. Across 23 clinical trials in more than 2,000 people with knee osteoarthritis, curcumin reduced pain compared with placebo, with fewer side effects than the anti-inflammatories it was measured against.

In our own study, more than four in five people who had joint pain before starting reported relief from it.

Getting curcumin where it needs to go

Curcumin on its own absorbs poorly, passes through quickly, and much of it never reaches the bloodstream. A high dose on the label means very little if most of it leaves unused.

This is why our formula includes organic black pepper. Piperine is the active compound in black pepper and slows the liver's breakdown of curcumin so more of it stays in circulation for longer. The two have been paired for this reason for decades.

Taking the capsule with a meal containing some fat helps too, because curcumin dissolves in fat rather than water.

Stiffness and everyday movement

Stiffness is most noticeable first thing in the morning or after sitting still.

Ginger is included alongside curcumin because both work on the joints. Across five clinical trials in nearly 600 people with osteoarthritis, ginger reduced pain compared with placebo.

Cell protection and healthy ageing

Oxidative stress is the imbalance between the free radicals the body produces and the antioxidants available to neutralise them. It accumulates with age, and skin and joint tissue are particularly exposed to it.

Curcumin and ginger are both strong sources of antioxidant plant compounds, which is a large part of why they have been studied so heavily in healthy ageing and joint health.

What is the best turmeric supplement?

According to BBC Good Food 'Best turmeric supplements, tried and tested', published in November 2025, DRV+ (Formerly DR.VEGAN®) Curcumin & Turmeric is rated 'Star Buy'.

Rated 5/5, the independent review comments "We like that these capsules combine high-quality curcumin extract with added vitamins C and D for extra immune support. They’re easy to take, fit seamlessly into a daily routine and don’t have any flavour, which is ideal for anyone sensitive to taste. The optimised formulation seems designed for better absorption and potential therapeutic benefits. Although the premium ingredients make them more expensive (though by no means the most expensive we tested), we think the quality and inclusion of additional nutrients justify the cost for those looking for an effective, all-round turmeric supplement."

Are Curcumin & Turmeric the same thing?

Yes and no. Curcumin is the all-important active ingredient in turmeric, and it is the curcumin in turmeric that is so acclaimed for supporting joints, bones and muscles. Think of curcumin as the concentrate of turmeric. The problem with standard turmeric and turmeric supplements is in their normal form, turmeric contains a very, very small amount of curcumin.

If your client is taking a standard turmeric supplement for their joints, check if the supplement lists curcumin separately in the nutritional table. If you don't see curcumin in the nutritional table, it means there isn't sufficient curcumin in the supplement and while the turmeric supplement will be beneficial for digestion, it won't be helping their joints and joint aches.

That's why our Curcumin & Turmeric is so popular - because it contains 200mg of Curcumin and 3300mg of Turmeric, and is very effective for joints, digestion and daily wellbeing.

Is Black Pepper important in a Turmeric supplement?

Yes. Studies show that black pepper can improve the body's absorption of turmeric by up to 2,000%. Ginger also has a very beneficial effect on the absorption of turmeric.

Is Curcumin & Turmeric the best supplement for joints?

Yes, our Curcumin & Turmeric is the best-selling supplement for joint health and discomfort that is caused by conditions such as arthritis, osteoarthritis and other conditions.

Can my client take this product with other products containing Turmeric?

Yes, absolutely. Our team of expert nutritionists are there to provide further advice, should you need it. You can email them at any time at team@drv.co.

What is curcumin good for?

How much curcumin should my client take per day?

Does turmeric curcumin interfere with any medications?

It is not recommended to take Curcumin & Turmeric with antiplatelets (blood thinners), antidiabetic medication or antihypertensives. If your client is taking any medication or under medical supervision, they should consult their GP or healthcare practitioner before taking supplements.
