Gentle Iron & Vitamin C

Gentle Iron & Vitamin C

Energy and healthy immunity. 18mg gentle iron as bisglycinate with 80mg vitamin C from acerola.

  • Reduces tiredness and fatigue
  • Healthy immunity
  • Red blood cell formation and oxygen transport
  • Vitamin C increases iron absorption
  • With Citrus Bioflavonoids

What sets DRV+ apart

Iron absorption from plant foods can be as low as 2 to 5%. Vitamin C increases it roughly tenfold.

We pair 18mg iron as bisglycinate (iron chelated to glycine, gentle on the stomach) with 80mg vitamin C from acerola extract. Both reduce tiredness and fatigue. Both support immunity. Together, they work harder.

Iron also supports cognitive function and cell division. If your client has heavy periods or follows a plant-based diet, this matters.

KEY FEATURES

  • 18mg iron as bisglycinate, clinically proven to support red blood cell and haemoglobin formation.
  • Iron bisglycinate is gentle on digestion (chelated to the amino acid glycine) making it gentle on the stomach.
  • 80mg vitamin C from acerola extract to increase iron absorption.
  • Iron and vitamin C reduce tiredness, support immunity and metabolism.
  • Iron supports cognitive function and oxygen transport.
  • Citrus bioflavonoids from citrus fruit extract providing hesperidin.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Take daily and avoid tea and coffee for 30 minutes either side (they block iron absorption).

IMPORTANT

Keep away from children. Your client should speak to their doctor if taking medication or under medical supervision.

Gentle Iron & Vitamin C benefits

Iron helps your body make healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen, which, in turn, supports energy levels.

By supporting oxygen delivery to the brain, iron helps maintain normal cognitive function, while vitamin c supports psychological function.

Iron helps the body produce healthy immune cells. Vitamin C helps keep immune cells working effectively to support the body’s natural defences.

Still have questions?
We’ve got answers.

Can my client take Vitamin B12 with a Daily Multi-Vitamin supplement?

We do not recommend taking our Gentle Iron & Vitamin C with our award-winning Daily Multi-Vitamin. This is because the two together would provide too much Iron.

If your client needs Iron, we recommend choosing between our Daily Multi-Vitamin, which includes 15mg Iron and 250mg Vitamin C, alongside 22 other vital nutrients or our Gentle Iron & Vitamin C which has 18mg Iron and 80mg Vitamin C.

Does Vitamin C help with iron absorption?

Yes. Vitamin C is essential for the body to absorb iron and significantly improves how the body absorbs and benefits from iron. Iron absorption from plant foods can be as little as 2-5% but including Vitamin C increases absorption by 10x. That's why we include Vitamin C in our Gentle Iron & Vitamin C formula, using natural Acerola Extract to provide 80mg of Vitamin C.

What is the difference between gentle iron and iron?

There are lots of different forms of iron, and many are not gentle on the stomach. 'Gentle Iron' describes higher-quality forms that don't cause stomach upsets or side effects in the gut. Basic, synthetic iron supplements such as ferrous sulfate are poorly absorbed and may cause issues like nausea, constipation, and diarrhea. The natural and most easily absorbed form of iron is iron bisglycinate.

What is iron bisglycinate?

Iron bisglycinate is the most absorbable form of iron that is gentle on the stomach.

How long do iron supplements take to work?

It depends on lots of factors, including your client's existing iron levels, the dosage, the form of iron they are taking, if it includes Vitamin C and other nutrients, and their body's natural ability to absorb Iron. Iron supplements may take a few days or a few weeks before they feel a difference. Taking vitamin C in or alongside the iron supplement is important for the body to absorb the iron.

When should my client take iron supplements?

Take the iron supplement on an empty stomach. Avoid drinking tea or coffee for 30 minutes before or after taking the iron supplement because they can hinder iron absorption.

What are the symptoms of iron deficiency?

Common symptoms of iron deficiency include tiredness, constant fatigue, shortness of breath, noticeable heartbeats (heart palpitations), and pale skin. Iron deficiency is a common cause of anemia.

What are the benefits of taking iron supplements?

Iron supplements help protect against deficiencies, combat fatigue, and support energy, cognitive function, a healthy mood, and metabolism, and protect against anemia.
